Will Ragano's bio

Will is an award-winning musician, graphic designer and photographer, originally from Tampa, Florida. He moved to Boston to attend the Berklee College of Music in 1986 after studying photography and design at the University of Florida, and music at the Southwest Guitar Conservatory in San Antonio, Texas. He was exposed to photography, movies and Frank Sinatra at an early age by his mob-lawyer father, while his hippie older brother and sister clued him into experimental art and Jimi Hendrix.

At Berklee he soon hooked up with a like-minded group of musicians with broad influences to become the electro-funk-punk band Psycho Tech. Members of that group then formed the popular avante-electro-pop band Think Tree which won numerous awards, packed Boston's largest clubs and toured Europe twice to much acclaim. Their hit "Hire a Bird" is one of the top 100 all-time songs on WFNX radio, and was a hit on VPRO in Holland. After Think Tree disbanded, he formed his current band Count Zero with bandmate vocalist/songwriter Peter Moore. With the current lineup, Count Zero toured North America with the Dresden Dolls in the Fall of 2004.

In the past few years Will has gotten more serious about his lifelong addiction to photography and opens his second solo show at the Eclipse Gallery (164 Newbury St., Boston) on August 4, 2006. He works at The Creative Source design/advertising agency and does freelance work, working on everything from band CDs to large bank and hospital accounts.
